Museum of American History

The amazingly huge doll house.
" There's no place like home." The original slippers that Judy Garland wore in the movie.

A replica of Julia Child's kitchen.

Mella in the hands-on kids area.

Ruthie meets C-3P0.

Mac and the robot race car.

One of our new favorite things is our pre-school co-op. We take turns with other moms and their kids, hosting pre-school on Wednesdays. There are five moms, and a total of 6 kids. The hosting mom does crafts, playtime, a teaching time and lunch, and she can do a theme or just fun preschool stuff like ABCs and colors. In each rotation is a free day or field trip and this last Wednesday Laurie and I took our kids to the Museum for a fun outing (the other moms had other plans.) It was fun, and everything went smoothly as far as parking in the city and finding a place to eat lunch, as it was a rainy, cold day. We had heard about a Christmas exhibit, and it was the only disappointment- it was definitely not what we expected-very small and not really interesting. Overall on a scale of museum funness from 1-10, 10 being the most fun, my kids would probably give this museum a 5. I think lunch was the highlight. They said they enjoyed the Dino Museum and Art Museum way more. I guess my kids are becoming museum connoisseurs.
